Finding hope in every hoofbeat

Thembelani means “have hope”. That is the heart of this yard: giving people hope through horses. Riding lessons for nervous beginners, a safe yard for your horse, and quiet time with animals that meet you without judgement.

What we do

Lessons, livery, outrides and quiet time with horses.

The yard

Stables built for the horses first

Thembelani means “have hope”. We chose it because that is what horses have given us, and it is what we want to pass on. A nervous rider can learn to sit tall. A shy child can find a friend in a horse. Someone carrying a heavy season can breathe for an hour in a stable.

The yard is at 114 Hilton Road in Linbro Park. We run a disciplined yard, teach small lessons and make space for people who need the kind of hope only a horse can give.

More about us
Brick stables with wooden half-doors under a covered walkway
Inside a stable with a full hay net and fresh water
Fresh shavings and clean bedding in a stable box

Brick keeps the stables cool in summer and warm in winter. Every box has space, light and fresh air.

Time with horses

Some things are easier with a horse

You do not have to explain yourself to a horse. Some people come to ride, and some just come to be around them.
